Consultation with Women Veterans

The Women Veterans Policy Forum provides a platform for women veterans to raise issues directly with the Australian Government and the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA), and to create new channels of communication between DVA and the veteran community. The Forum is attended by women veterans and other representatives from the veteran community.

The inaugural Women Veterans Policy Forum (the Forum) was held in 2016 and has been conducted each subsequent year. During the COVID-19 pandemic, virtual engagements were implemented to maintain community connection and gather feedback.

The Forum is one way government and DVA are listening to women veterans and using their feedback to co-design future DVA policy and service delivery options.

Registrations are now open for the upcoming Forum in 2025.

Women who have served in the Australian Defence Force are invited to express their interest in attending the Forum by completing this Expression of Interest Form

This Form also allows you to express interest in participating in other consultation opportunities which might be scheduled by DVA across the year, and/or to opt-in to a Women Veterans Mailing List for email updates and invitations to other consultative avenues.

Please note: Interest in attending the Forum typically exceeds the capacity which the Forum can accommodate. As such, expressing your interest in attending does not guarantee you will receive an invitation to participate.

Forum Reports

Reports from each of the Forum engagements can be seen below.

Please note that this Forum was previously known as the Female Veterans & Veterans’ Families Policy Forum, where women veterans attended the Forum concurrently with veteran family members. This event now exists separately, as the Veteran Families Policy Forum.
