Anzac Commemorative site, Türkiye

The Anzac Commemorative Site is situated at North Beach where, on the morning of 25 April 1915, troops of the 1st Australian Division came ashore some minutes after the first landings at Ari Burnu and Anzac Cove to the south. North Beach was also the site of a major casualty clearing station and resupply area during the Gallipoli campaign and from where surviving Anzacs were evacuated during December 1915.

The Prime Minister, the Hon John Howard, dedicated the site on Anzac Day 2000. The memorial has both a commemorative and educational focus with panels that tell the story of the Gallipoli campaign. It is the major venue for the many thousands of Australians and New Zealanders who attend the dawn service every Anzac Day.
