Description

In 2008 a memorial wall was constructed which lists on a plaque the names of the 71 men who died during the Second World War while learning to fly the Spitfire at RAF Grangemouth.

In 2013 a replica Spitfire was placed next to the memorial wall.

History

In September 2008 a memorial wall was unveiled in Grangemouth which listed the 71 men who died. In 2013 a replica Spitfire was sited beside the memorial wall. Plaques at the memorial site tell the story of the airfield, the Spitfire aircraft and the men who flew them.
