Veteran Transition Action Plan

The Veteran Transition Action Plan aims to deliver tangible benefits for the veteran community, helping them plan, achieve their goals, maintain wellbeing, and feel valued by the nation they served.

The Action Plan sets out more than 60 actions to support the six priorities of the Veteran Transition Strategy, released in August 2023, which provides a shared vision for the transition experience of veterans and families.

• Access to tailored, appropriate support.
• Engaging families throughout the process.
• Providing employment, education, and skill-building opportunities.
• Supporting financial wellbeing.
• Ensuring veterans and families feel supported and recognised. 

Our veterans have given so much in service to Australia. This Action Plan is one way we ensure that their contributions are recognised and that they have the tools, resources, and support to maintain fulfilling lives after their service.
