DVA Grants Programs now calling for applications

Ex-service organisations (ESOs) and community organisations working in partnership with ESOs are invited to apply for funding through the latest rounds of the Veteran and Community Grants (V&CG) and Supporting Younger Veterans (SYV) programs which opened this week.

The V&CG program aims to maintain and improve the independence and quality of life for members of the Australian veteran community by providing funding for projects that sustain or enhance health and wellbeing. This year, applications for practical projects and activities that support safe, accessible environments for veterans and their families to enable social connection and positive engagement to improve wellbeing are being encouraged.

SYV grants support the development of well-researched and tailored services for the younger veterans’ community, with a particular focus on services supporting those at risk of experiencing poor mental health. This may include social inclusion and connectedness activities for younger veterans and their families, mentoring or other support for veterans to assist with their transition to civilian life and employment, or online activities that address the stigma and raise awareness of mental health issues faced by younger veterans.

The 2021-22 grants rounds are now open online through the Community Grants Hub. Organisations are invited to apply for smaller grants of up to $50,000 and large grants of up to $150,000.

Grant applications close 20 January 2022. For information about how to apply for grants online, see the Community Grants Hub website: www.communitygrants.gov.au
