Sir Peter Cosgrove - An invitation to remember the Vietnam War
In 2023, General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK CVO MC (Retd) joins DVA to acknowledge and commemorate the 50th anniversary of the end of Australia’s involvement in the Vietnam War.
As a Vietnam veteran, Sir Peter saw firsthand the dedication and devotion of those who served and, reflects on their courage, commitment and bravery.
The Vietnam War was the longest 20th Century conflict in which Australians participated, it involved some 60,000 personnel, sadly 523 tragically lost their lives and more than 3,000 were wounded.
On 18 August 2023, a national commemorative service to acknowledge the 50th Anniversary of the end of Australia’s involvement in the Vietnam War is being held from 10:00am at the Australian Vietnam Forces National Memorial on Anzac Parade in Canberra.
This service is an opportunity for Australians to thank our Vietnam veterans for their service, and remember those who did not return.
