Veterans’ and Families’ Hubs extend their footprint across Southwest Perth

The Minister for Veterans’ Affairs today announced that the Australian Government is providing RSLWA with a grant of $5 million to lead the development of a Southwest Perth Veterans’ and Families’ Hub centred in Rockingham, Western Australia.

RSLWA plan to take an innovative and contemporary approach that will evolve with the needs of the veteran community. They’ll be extending their footprint across the Southwest Perth region through a number of proposed spoke locations and will continue to develop partnerships with local service providers.

For more than 100 years RSLWA have provided localised services to veterans, and offer their experience in working with individuals and families through the Government-funded Perth Hub at ANZAC House, Veteran Central. RSLWA comprises of a State Branch and 114 Sub-Branches located throughout Western Australia, including 6 within the Southwest Perth region.

Today’s announcement is great news for the more than 8,000 veterans and families that live across the Southwest Perth region, along with HMAS Stirling Royal Australian Navy base which has over 4,100 employees.

All currently serving ADF members, veterans and families can access support at any Veterans’ and Families’ Hub.

In the October 2022 Budget, the Australian Government committed $46.7 million for eight new Veterans’ and Families’ Hubs to be established across the country.  The commitment included the continuation of work underway to establish hubs in Southeast Queensland and Tasmania.
