Building Excellence in Support and Training 2023-24 grants now open
Applications are now open for the 2023-24 round of the Building Excellence in Support and Training (BEST) grants, with ex-service organisations encouraged to apply for a share in $4.551 million in grant funding.
Designed to support the work of ex-service organisations that provide advocacy services to the veteran community, the BEST grants program provides funding support for these services. This may include funding a contribution for the salary of compensation advocates and their administrative support staff, as well as equipment, and administrative expenses which may be incurred when delivering services to veterans and families.
Qualified advocates provide support to current and former-serving members of the Australian Defence Force who may need help to access DVA services and entitlements. They provide advice and assistance through the claims process and can help veterans access health, housing and other community services and benefits. The BEST grants program funding allows this important work to continue.
Ex-service organisations that provide advocacy services are encouraged to apply and lodge applications before 9.00 pm AEDT on 23 February 2023.
