Grants available to salute Vietnam veterans
Next year, Australians will mark the 50th anniversary of the end of our involvement in the Vietnam War. One way to commemorate the service and sacrifice of our Vietnam veterans is with the help of a Saluting Their Service (STS) grant.
The upcoming 50th anniversary of Australia’s withdrawal from the Vietnam War presents a unique opportunity for communities around Australia to honour Vietnam veterans.
STS grants help honour the service and sacrifice of Australia’s service personnel and preserve our wartime heritage. They can be used for many different projects, such as restoring or building a local memorial, plaques and honour boards, exhibitions or educational activities involving local school students. There are two categories available:
– Community Grants: Amounts to a maximum of $10,000 for local, community-based projects and activities.
– Major Grants: Amounts between $10,001 and $150,000 for major commemorative projects that are significant from a national, state, territory, or regional perspective.
Applications for the current round of grants close on 7 February 2023. Successful organisations can generally expect to receive their grants about three months after this closing date.
