Minister officially opens upgraded facilities at the Launceston VeteranHub
Tasmanian veterans and families now have access to improved facilities with the official opening today of refurbished premises at the Launceston VeteranHub.
The Minister for Veterans’ Affairs Matt Keogh officially opened the renovated facilities at the Launceston VeteranHub at an event held by Launceston RSL Sub-Branch. The Minister was joined by RSL Tasmania President Barry Quinn, Launceston RSL President Graeme Barnett, Tasmanian Minister for Veterans’ Affairs Guy Barnett, along with representatives from local ex-service organisations and members of the local veteran community.
An Australian Government grant of $250,000 enabled the Launceston RSL Sub-branch to upgrade their existing facilities in Tasmania’s northeast, providing a better experience for those who access support from the hub.
The renovations represent the Government’s commitment to bring the services veterans and their families rely on to the places where they live. The Launceston works have created welcoming and functional spaces for veterans and families to connect with services and support, and participate in their community.
All current serving Defence members, veterans and families in Tasmania can access support services from the hub, including for mental health, wellbeing, advocacy, employment and housing advice, and social connection.
