Education Allowance rate increase

On 23 February 2021, the Prime Minister announced a $50 per fortnight rate increase to payments such as JobSeeker Payment, Youth Allowance and certain rates of Education Allowance paid under DVA’s Education Schemes.

As of 1 April 2021, the following recipients of Education Allowance are receiving the rate rise:

  • students aged 16 or over;
  • students aged under 16 and living away from home;
  • students aged under 16 and homeless;
  • students who are double orphans (both parents have passed away).

Remember, if the student’s circumstances have changed it is important to make sure their details are up to date with DVA.
