Updated DVA form for non-nutritional thickened fluid products

The Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) has revised the order form for Non-nutritional Thickened Fluid Products under the Rehabilitation Appliances Program (RAP).

The form has been retitled, from ‘Thickened Fluids’ to ‘Non-nutritional Thickened Fluid Products’, and the content amended to provide greater clarity for prescribers.

The aim is to make it easier for assessing health providers to distinguish between the following products:

  • Non-nutritional thickened fluid products, available through RAP, and
  • Nutritional thickened fluid products, available through the Veterans’ Affairs Pharmaceutical Approvals Centre (VAPAC).

The new D9166 order form for Non-nutritional Thickened Fluid Products can be found on the DVA RAP Forms webpage. Assessing health providers should ensure that the most up to date form is used.
