Contracts

Last updated:

The Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) must set out contracts entered into by DVA, which provide for a consideration to the value of $100,000 or more.

Senate Order 13 on Entity Contracts - listing for the period 1 July 2023 to 30 June 2024.

Pursuant to the Senate Order 13 on Entity Contracts, contracts entered into by the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) are available through the Senate Order Report on the AusTender website. The Senate Order Report includes contracts of $100,000 or more (GST inclusive) and which:

  1. have not been fully performed as at 30 June 2024; or
  2. which have been entered into during the 12 months prior to 30 June 2024.

DVA is not fully compliant with the Senate Order, as not all contracts of $100,000 or more (GST inclusive) are reported in the listing. This will be rectified by the end of the 2024 calendar year, to ensure full compliance for the next reporting period.

Some of the contracts in The Senate Order Report contain confidentiality provisions of a general nature that are designed to protect the confidential information of the parties that may be obtained or generated in carrying out the contract.

The reasons for including such clauses include:

  1. ordinary commercial prudence that requires protection of trade secrets, proprietary information and the like; and/or
  2. protection of other Commonwealth material and personal information.

The accountable authority of the Department of Veterans’ Affairs has assured that the contracts do not contain any inappropriate confidentiality provisions.
