Information Publication Scheme
Certain documents and information required to be published under the FOI Act.
Part 2 of the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (FOI Act) establishes an Information Publication Scheme (IPS) for Australian Government agencies that are subject to the FOI Act. The IPS commenced on 1 May 2011 and requires the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) to publish a broad range of information on its website, and to make it available for downloading where possible.
DVA is also required to publish an Information Publication Plan that explains how it intends to implement the IPS.
Aspects of the IPS are:
- Agency plan
- Who we are
- What we do
- Our reports and responses to Parliament
- Routinely requested information and disclosure log
- Consultation arrangements
- Other information
- Contact us
Under section 8(2)(j) of the FOI Act, DVA has an obligation to publish its operational information. Many DVA documents are also available for viewing through the Department's website.
Should you require access to documents that have been released under the FOI Act, these may be available (subject to some exceptions) and accessed through the DVA FOI Disclosure Log.
