Nominations for Prime Minister’s National Veterans’ Employment Awards now open
Does your organisation employ and support members of the veteran community? Are you a veteran or veteran partner making a significant contribution as an employee or entrepreneur? If you answered yes, you might consider nominating now for the 2023 Prime Minister's National Veterans’ Employment Awards.
Or, if you know such an organisation, veteran or veteran partner, you can nominate them for an Award.
The Awards are an opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate the achievements of Australian organisations that make significant contributions to the employment of veterans and partners. The Awards also showcase individual talents of employees and entrepreneurs who have used their Australian Defence Force (ADF)-related experiences to succeed within the civilian workplace.
Minister for Veterans’ Affairs Matt Keogh said the Awards provide the opportunity to recognise organisations that actively recruit, employ and support veterans, and also to acknowledge the successes of individual veterans and partners in the civilian workforce.
‘As a nation we value the contributions made by veterans and their ongoing commitment to service, and we recognise the valuable skills they bring to the civilian workforce,’ Minister Keogh said.
‘Making sure that our community is aware of the great benefit that veterans can bring to business is so important. That’s why these awards celebrate the businesses who work with veterans and families.
‘Veterans bring with them great skills that they have gained in Defence. These are individuals with leadership skills, teamwork capacity, analytical skills, with the ability to work under pressure and to be agile – all critical skills in the modern economy.’
The 2022 Awards saw the inclusion of two new categories: Partner Employee of the Year and Partner Entrepreneur of the Year. The additional categories will be included in the 2023 Awards and into the future, continuing to acknowledge and recognise the significant contributions of ADF partners in the civilian workplace.
The Awards are a key component of the broader Veterans’ Employment Program, which seeks to improve employment opportunities for veterans and partners by raising awareness of the skills, experience and attributes they bring to the civilian workplace.

Nominations close 11:59pm AEST 14 April 2023.
