First World War bears
Standing proud in his First World War uniform, ‘Digger’ bear reminds us of the young men of the Australian Imperial Force who volunteered and served overseas from 1914 to 1919.
‘Florence’ the nurse bear, dressed in her iconic veil and red cape, represents the women who volunteered for active service and cared for our sick or wounded soldiers during the First World War.
Each bear (sold separately) stands about 44 centimetres tall and comes in a clear presentation box. A donation is made from the sale of each bear to Soldier On.
Bears not suitable for children under three years (small removable parts).

Menin Gate Lion figurines
A pair of stone lions once stood on either side of the Menin Gate at Ypres in Belgium, guarding the medieval city. Ypres was destroyed during the First World War but the lions were recovered from the ruins. In 1936, the Burgomaster of Ypres presented the lions to the Australian Government in a gesture of friendship. Today, they stand within the Commemorative Area of the Australian War Memorial.
Crafted from resin, the Menin Gate Lion figurines are a tribute to the 38,000 Australian soldiers who were killed or wounded on the Ypres battlefield during 1917.
Figurines are sold as a pair and measure 8 cm x 7 cm x 3 cm.
