2023 commemorative service for Vietnam veterans

A national commemorative service will take place in Canberra next year, recognising the 50^th anniversary of the end of Australia’s involvement in the Vietnam War.

The service will take place on Vietnam Veterans’ Day – 18 August – at the Australian Vietnam Forces National Memorial on Anzac Parade in Canberra, and will be broadcast nationally by the ABC.

Some 60,000 Australians served in Vietnam, which was the longest conflict Australia was involved in during the 20^th Century. More than 3,000 Australians were wounded and 523 lost their lives during the Vietnam War.
