- You do not need to be in receipt of a DVA payment or benefit to get the Victoria Cross Allowance.
- You do not have to get the Decoration Allowance to be eligible for the Victoria Cross Allowance.
- You do not need to repay any part of an annual lump sum if a veteran paid the allowance dies.
- The payment rate is updated annually.
