An annual payment of $5,578.00 paid in September each year.

We will automatically pay you if you have been awarded the Victoria Cross.

If you have received the Victoria Cross and are not already receiving the allowance, please contact us.

Important information

  • You do not need to be in receipt of a DVA payment or benefit to get the Victoria Cross Allowance.
  • You do not have to get the Decoration Allowance to be eligible for the Victoria Cross Allowance.
  • You do not need to repay any part of an annual lump sum if a veteran paid the allowance dies.
  • The payment rate is updated annually.
