Community consultation on a new agency for veteran wellbeing
The Royal Commission made several key recommendations in addressing the gaps in providing better support pathways for veterans.
One of these is Recommendation 87: Establish a new agency to focus on veteran wellbeing.
To make sure the new agency delivers meaningful and lasting change; it’s important that veterans and their families are involved in shaping what the new agency should do, and how it should do it.

Consultation sessions
Over the coming months, in-person and virtual sessions will be hosted by experienced facilitators, with some DVA staff in attendance to hear your ideas firsthand.
Register your interest to be considered for an invitation to attend. Light refreshments will be available at each session.
To ensure a manageable and representative group of the veteran community up to 40 people will then be invited to attend (depending on the venue capacity). Attendance is by invitation only.

National Survey
The National Survey to inform the co-design of a new agency focused on Veteran Wellbeing is now live.
The survey questions will ask your views on a range of topics, for example: the people the new agency should support, what the agency should do, and how it should deliver on its responsibilities in collaboration with its delivery partners.
The survey takes approximately 20 minutes to complete, and will close at 5:00pm (AEST) Friday, 11 April 2025.
