Submissions Portal for National Peak Body
A recommendation of the Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Suicide is the establishment of a national peak body for ex-service organisations to improve coordination and advocacy within the sector.
We are actively consulting with the sector through different channels for insights about how the peak body will operate.
If you are part of an ex-service organisation and wish to provide your views for consideration, you can send them to us through our submissions portal.
These are a few topics you may like to consider:
- What role and purpose do you think the new peak body should have?
- How do you think large and small organisations could be represented?
- What special functions should the peak body undertake? For example: creating professional standards, allocation of funding, facilitating communities of practice, advocacy)

Peak body consultation
DVA previously contracted Nous Group to consult with veterans, families, and organisations that support the sector on proposed functions, purpose, values, and structural options for a peak body. This work provides community insights to the establishment of a peak body.
