The Veteran Wellbeing Grants (VWG) One-Off Program supported the wellbeing of veterans and families with up to $20 million in targeted funding for projects that improved the infrastructure, reach and capacity of organisations providing important wellbeing services, supports and opportunities to the veteran community. 

This program was separate to the annual VWG Program.

What was the Veteran Wellbeing Grants (VWG) One-Off Program

The program provided funding opportunities to enhance the infrastructure, services, capacity and reach of eligible applicants to support the wellbeing initiatives that those organisations deliver to veterans and families. 

The program provided for up to $20 million in funding to successful applicants for eligible expenditure.

Eligibility

In line with the targeted/restricted competitive nature of this program, to be eligible, an organisation must have been invited to apply for a grant. Invited organisations were contacted directly by the Department of Veterans’ Affairs. See the grant opportunity guidelines on GrantConnect for further information.

How the grants could be used

Grants of between $150,001 and $5 million were offered for projects that uplifted and expanded existing organisations and had the potential to make a substantial and positive impact on the wellbeing of a significant number of veterans and their families.

How the applications were assessed

Applications from invited organisations were assessed competitively based on the criteria set out in the VWG One-Off Grant Opportunity Guidelines.

The Minister for Veterans’ Affairs was the final decision-maker for the program.

Funding Announcement

On 21 November 2023, the Minister for Veterans’ Affairs the Hon Matt Keogh announced the successful recipients of the VWG One-Off Program. Further details on this announcement can be found on the Department of Veterans' Affairs website.
