What is the Veteran Recognition of Prior Learning – Tertiary Support (RPL) Grant Program

The RPL Grant Program offers support to invited Australian tertiary education facilities to recognise the skills and experience veterans gain from their military service, and to support veterans to undertake tertiary education.

This assistance supports tertiary education facilities to adapt and apply existing credit mapping frameworks (including micro-credentialling), and establish or adapt direct or assisted entry, or recognition of prior learning pathways.

Under the RPL Grant Program, the Australian Government is providing a total of $1.65 million to Australian tertiary education facilities, offered over three grant rounds.

How can the grants be used

RPL Grants are offered to assist tertiary education facilities to:

  • adapt and apply existing tertiary recognition of prior learning and credit-mapping frameworks
  • establish or adapt direct or assisted entry pathways and study support programs for veterans
  • share knowledge with other education facilities providers about their programs to support veterans with tertiary study.

Applicants must be able to develop and sustainably deliver the initiative to the veteran community.

How do I apply

Only invited Australian tertiary education facilities are eligible to apply for this grant.  An invitation does not guarantee success in receiving funding.

Applicants are strongly encouraged to read all grant opportunity documentation, especially the guidelines and any instructions in the application form.  The grant opportunity documentation is specific to each round and contains important information about the purpose of the program, eligibility and compliance requirements, eligible items, timeframes and how to apply.

You can register on GrantConnect to receive notifications of any new grant opportunities that may become available.

More information can be found at Getting started with GrantConnect.
