History
The inscribed wooden memorial stands near the site of where, on the night of 31 March 1944, the crew of Lancaster bomber LL861 was shot down and all on board (six Australians, a Canadian and an Englishman) perished in Lauterbach, Hesse, Germany. The local community erected this memorial to the crew who died in the crash.

Designed and built by the local community in Lauterbach in 2008.

From Stuttgart take the A81 to Rottweil then B462 to Schramberg. Lauterbach is on the L108 between Schramberg and Homberg.
