Consultation with Veteran Families
The Veteran Families Policy Forum provides a platform for facilitated collaboration between members of veteran families to generate ideas on how DVA can best address key areas for change. DVA uses the information and insights from the Forum to improve policies, processes, programs, and services.
The inaugural Veteran Families Policy Forum (the Forum) was held in 2016 and has been conducted each subsequent year. During the COVID-19 pandemic, virtual engagements were implemented to maintain community connection and gather feedback.
The Forum is one of the ways that government and DVA are listening to veteran families and using their feedback to co-design future DVA policy and service delivery options.
Expressions of interest are now open for the 2025 Veteran Families Policy Forum. If you are a member of a veteran family and interested in participating, please express your interest here.

Reports from each of the Forum engagements can be seen below.
Please note that this Forum was previously known as the Female Veterans & Veterans’ Families Policy Forum, where veteran family members attended the Forum concurrently with female veterans of the ADF. This event now exists separately, as the Women Veterans Policy Forum.
